Student Welfare
Harris Primary Academy South Kenton has a range of policies and procedures in place that ensure the welfare of our students. Some of these policies set out expectations about behaviour. This creates an environment where students and adults feel safe and can learn and includes good learning behaviour in lessons and respecting others. Our academy has a zero tolerance for bullying and will not tolerate racist or homophobic language.

Excellent attendance is the expectation at our Academy because students who attend school regularly and on time make better progress than those who do not. The expectation is that students attend every day unless they are unwell, in which case parents or carers are expected to contact the Academy by 10.00 am on the morning of any absence, or provide a note on the next or first day of their child’s return to the Academy. Students are expected to attend following a medical or dental appointment, unless too unwell. Efforts to have these appointments out of Academy hours where possible are appreciated.
